Central Saint Martins Graduate, Phoebe English, has been named this years Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit Award Winner following her participation in the Ones to Watch show.

The Graduate, most commonly associated with her boundary pushing designs surrounding knitwear has received exhibition space at this years London and Paris Fashion Week as well as a £1,000 bursary.

“From her graduate collection through her Ones To Watch show she has explored individual techniques and is developing a unique vision of design,” said  Martyn Roberts, Director of Vauxhall Fashion Scout. “Phoebe English has demonstrated a remarkable design talent which is reflected in the make of each piece. With the Merit Award she will be able to take this further and to an even wider audience.”

Vauxhall Fashion Scout acts as a launch pad for new talent and this season will feature the highly-anticipated Merit Award, Ones To Watch and Ones To Watch MEN shows, alongside catwalk shows, presentations, installations and exhibition space.

Alongside the announcement of the Merit Award Winner, Vauxhall Fashion Scout have also announced a handful of new successful candidates featuring in this years Ones to Watch Show. Over the past four seasons Ones To Watch has been responsible for launching the likes of Eudon Choi, David Longshaw, Tze Goh, Hermione de Paula and Dean Quinn to the market.

The newly announced winners are:  Anne Sofie Madsen,  Heohwan Simulation,  Myrza de Muynck and  Nova Chiu.

February 2012 will be Vauxhall Fashion Scoutʼs twelfth season during London Fashion Week. Featuring an exciting selection of Off & On Schedule designers, Vauxhall Fashion Scout will be hosting a range of catwalk shows, salon shows, presentations and exhibition space at their permanent home of the Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden.
